I often ponder on the beauty of things and what makes something beautiful whether it be a painting, sculpture, dance, poetry or music. I've recently been connecting with lots of new music and great musicians. Great voices come from the soul, the ability to express emotion through words and sound is wondrous and engaging with music is something which feeds into my art. However said, I rarely listen to music whilst painting.
American singer and songwriter Curtis Stigers delivers "Let's Go Out Tonight" with such sincere emotion, a performance which is truly beautiful. The composer genius of this song Paul Buchanan, a Scottish singer songwriter and lead of the band The Blue Nile writes and sings the most exquisitely beautiful songs. "Have you ever been lonely" and "Mid Air" will make you cry. A little bit of heaven on earth I think, poetry in song. Thank goodness for creativity.
